New boilers in Hucknall
A former mining town on the tram line, mostly terraces and post-war semis. Fifteen questions, ninety seconds, and a real number — fitted by our own Gas Safe engineers — as soon as the next working day, and usually inside a week.
Start with your postcode. Hucknall is inside our area, so you will go straight through.
The housing here
Hucknall's stock is dominated by Victorian and early twentieth-century terraces close to the centre and the old colliery, with large interwar and post-war semi-detached estates around them and newer development on the former pit land.
The water here is hard — limestone country. Scale is the main thing that kills a combi's plate heat exchanger, and an in-line scale reducer at seventy-five pounds is the cheapest insurance you can buy on a boiler you want to keep for fifteen years.
What that means for your boiler
Not a template. This is drawn from what the housing stock here is actually made of.
Terraces are where we still find the most back boilers. The chimney breast made them easy to fit in 1978 and awkward to remove now — the boiler has to come out of the fireplace opening and the flue has to find a new route through an outside wall. It is two days rather than one, and our quote adds that as its own visible line rather than burying it.
The most straightforward stock we work in. The boiler is usually already in the kitchen on an outside wall, the flue run is under a metre, and a like-for-like combi swap is a comfortable single day. If there is still a cylinder in the airing cupboard, this is the housing type where converting to a combi pays off most obviously.
Bigger radiator circuits and more often two bathrooms, which is where combi sizing starts to matter. If both bathrooms genuinely get used at once, our quote will point you at a system boiler and a cylinder rather than sell you a large combi that will still disappoint you.
Former pit housing was built with solid fuel in mind and converted to gas in waves through the seventies and eighties. That means back boilers, gravity-fed cylinders and gas runs sized for a different era. If your gas pipe from the meter is 15mm, upgrading it to 22mm is included in our price — it is one of the most common surprise charges in this trade and we have simply built it in.
What you get
Hucknall questions
Next working day installation is available in Hucknall wherever we have an engineer free, and most jobs go in inside a week. You pick the date yourself on screen rather than waiting for a callback, and the calendar only offers days we currently have an engineer for.
If you have no heating and no hot water at all, tell us on the phone. We hold capacity back for that and will get to you sooner.
We cover Hucknall with our own Gas Safe registered engineers in our own vans. We are not a lead site and we do not sell your details to a local firm. That is precisely why our coverage area is twelve postcode areas rather than the whole country.
It is hard. We would suggest an in-line scale reducer at seventy-five pounds to protect the heat exchanger.
Yes. Fifteen questions, ninety seconds, and a real number you can buy at. Every answer you gave is printed next to the price so you can see exactly what it assumes.
The only two things we cannot price from a questionnaire are asbestos and scaffolding. Both are excluded in writing and both come with a full refund rather than a surprise bill.
Fifteen questions and a real fixed number. If we cannot reach your postcode you will know on screen one.
