The housing here
Sheffield is built across seven hills and its housing reflects that. Stone and brick Victorian terraces fill the inner suburbs at Walkley, Crookes and Heeley; substantial Victorian and Edwardian villas sit at Nether Edge, Ranmoor and Ecclesall; and there are large post-war estates and a big student rental market around Broomhill and Crookesmoor.

The chimney breast made them easy to fit in 1978 and awkward to remove now — the boiler has to come out of the fireplace opening and the flue has to find a new route through an outside wall. It is two days rather than one, and our quote adds that as its own visible line rather than burying it.
Bigger radiator circuits and more often two bathrooms, which is where combi sizing starts to matter. If both bathrooms genuinely get used at once, our quote will point you at a system boiler and a cylinder rather than sell you a large combi that will still disappoint you.
A boiler replacement does not normally need listed building consent, but a new flue penetration on a principal elevation can. We route flues to the least visible face as a matter of course, and if the only viable route is a front elevation we will say so before you order rather than after.
